Privacy Policy

Last updated September 19, 2026

The C.O.D. Report respects your privacy. This policy explains what information may be collected when you visit codreport.org, how it may be used, and the choices available to you.

Who We Are

The C.O.D. Report is an independent publication and research website. Questions about this policy may be sent to contact@codreport.org.

Information You Provide

  • Contact messages. If you email us, we receive the address you use and the information you include in your message.
  • Comments. If comments are enabled, we collect the information entered in the comment form, along with the visitor’s IP address and browser user-agent information to help detect spam.
  • Accounts and membership. If registration or membership features are enabled, we may collect your name, email address, username, membership status, and information needed to administer your account. The site will not ask you to publish a password or other secret information.
  • Newsletter signups. If you subscribe to email updates, we collect the email address and preferences you submit.

Information Collected Automatically

Like most websites, the site and its hosting, security, caching, and analytics services may automatically record technical information such as IP address, browser type, device type, referring page, pages visited, dates and times, approximate location derived from IP address, and diagnostic or security events. This information is used to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the site.

Cookies

WordPress and service providers may use cookies or similar technologies for essential site functions, login sessions, saved preferences, security, performance, and measurement. If you log in, WordPress may set cookies to maintain your session and display preferences. You can control cookies through your browser, although disabling essential cookies may prevent some features from working correctly.

Embedded Content and External Links

Articles may include embedded videos, images, documents, charts, or other material from services such as YouTube, Rumble, or social-media platforms. Embedded content may behave as though you visited the provider directly. Those providers may collect data, use cookies, or track interaction according to their own privacy policies. Links to outside sources are provided for research and convenience; The C.O.D. Report does not control those sites.

How We Use Information

  • Operate, maintain, secure, and improve the website.
  • Respond to questions and reader correspondence.
  • Deliver newsletters or updates requested by the reader.
  • Administer accounts, membership access, discussions, and polls when those features are offered.
  • Prevent spam, fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access.
  • Understand site performance and general readership patterns.
  • Comply with legal obligations and protect the rights and safety of readers, the publication, and others.

Sharing of Information

The C.O.D. Report does not sell personal information. Information may be shared with service providers that help host, secure, maintain, measure, or deliver the website and its communications. These may include the web host, WordPress-related services, anti-spam or security services, email providers, and future membership or payment processors. Information may also be disclosed when reasonably necessary to comply with law, enforce site rules, investigate abuse, or protect legal rights and safety.

Payments

The site does not currently offer a paid membership tier. If paid services are introduced, payment-card information will be handled by the disclosed payment processor rather than stored directly by The C.O.D. Report. This policy will be updated when paid services are launched.

Data Retention

Information is retained only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described here, including maintaining accounts, responding to correspondence, keeping security records, meeting legal obligations, and resolving disputes. Approved comments and associated metadata may be retained so follow-up comments can be recognized. Account information may remain until the account is deleted, subject to records that must be retained for security, legal, or administrative reasons.

Your Choices and Requests

You may unsubscribe from promotional email using the link provided in the message. You may also request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information associated with you by emailing contact@codreport.org. We may need to verify the request and may retain information when required for legal, security, or legitimate administrative purposes.

Children’s Privacy

The site is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. A parent or guardian who believes a child has submitted such information should contact us so it can be reviewed and removed where appropriate.

Security

Reasonable administrative and technical measures are used to protect the site and the information it processes. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure, so readers should avoid sending sensitive information that is not needed for their request.

Changes to This Policy

This policy may be updated when the site adds services or changes its practices. The revised policy will be posted on this page with an updated date. Material changes may also be announced elsewhere on the site.
